They feature rugged construction for prolonged life and are ideal for restaurant, laboratory exhaust and industrial ventilation systems. These centrifugal fans from Dayton come with non-overloading properties to prevent phase failure & mechanical jamming, thereby providing cost effective & efficient performance. They are available in single phase, split phase, capacitor start or three phase motor types for transmission of efficient power with a torque speed of up to 20 hp.

What is the most efficient fan blade shape?

With a curved blade design, the backward curved fan is one of the most efficient centrifugal fan options available. It can move high volumes of air at great static pressures and can be a perfect option for many industrial applications.

What is the difference between belt-driven and direct-driven fans?

Fans having a belt drive design offer superior flexibility & decreased noise while offering control over rpm speeds as the motor is not directly in contact with the fan's moving parts. Direct-driven exhaust fans are manufactured such that the motor is directly connected to the fan through shafts or axles, thereby increasing energy efficiency. How do backward inclined fans operate?

A positive pressure generates on the front side of the blade that pushes the air outwards and a negative pressure generates on the reverse side of the blade that draws air into the space. The front side of the following blade picks this air up and pushes it outwards.
