Working Mechanism

  • Set the mode switch to the desired setting of ON (continuous mode) or Touch.
  • Adjust the speed knob to obtain more or less vortex mixing action.

Features

  • They feature advanced Q-Drive technology, to provide smooth instant vortexing of even the largest sample sizes, including full 50 ml tubes.
  • This unique counter-balance system creates maximum vortexing action, while reducing noise and excessive vibration.
  • They also include features like 'no-walk' suction feet to prevent movement during operation, spill-proof electronic controls for user safety and cold room / incubator compatibility.
  • They provide a variable speed control from 200 to 3200 rpm for the precision mixing of different materials.
  • The brand's BV1003 vortex mixer features a unique reversible rubber head that attaches to the mixer in two orientations.
  • For vortexing of single tubes, the cupped surface is preferred while for applications requiring a flat / dimpled surface for mixing uniquely shaped vessels (or multiple test tubes), the head can be easily flipped over and reattached in reverse orientation.

Compatible Accessories

  • Benchmark's Mixer Head: This optional combination head is used with these vortex mixers for accommodating one microplate and microtubes (38 x 1.5 & 28 x 0.5 ml)

Frequently Asked Questions

What are touch & continuous modes?

  • Continous mode: When using accessory attachments or foam tube stands.
  • Touch mode: This mode automatically activates mixing when the stand cup head is pressed.

Where are vortex mixers useful?

  • General: For resuspension of cell or chemical pellets.
  • Life Science: For deproteinization of DNA / protein complexes, mixing of immunostained cells and purification of low molecular DNA / RNA fragments.
  • Biopharmaceutical: For solubilising powders.

How to replace or remove the attachment heads?

  • Grasp the unit body with the left hand and then gently rotate the head attachment counter-clockwise with the right hand until the cap is completely unscrewed.
  • Replace the head attachment by gently rotating clockwise until it is tight and the rubber starts to grip the top of the dynamic drive assembly.
  • Attaching accessory heads requires a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the centre screw in the accessory head.
