EATON CLCAF Series Ground Fault Breakers

Eaton CLCAF Series ground fault circuit breakers are used in commercial and industrial applications like electrical panels and switchboards. Ground fault interrupters (GFCIs) prevent accidental electric shocks and offer improved wireway help in easy troubleshooting. They automatically perform a...n internal test to ensure that the device is working properly and providing high-level security. They allow plug-on mounting for easy installation and removal while providing excellent resistance against vibrations.Read more

Working Mechanism

  • These devices monitor the current flowing through conductors (hot and neutral) and measure the current status. If there is a difference between the two currents, the internal electronic circuit will trip the breaker.
  • The tripping time is less than 25 milliseconds, preventing electrical shocks, electrocutions and damage to equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does a ground fault occur?

A ground fault occurs when the current flowing through a circuit deviates from the normal current flow. These faults may occur due to damaged insulation, moisture or if the equipment is not properly grounded.

What is Trip-To-Center?

Trip-to-centre is a tripping mechanism wherein a breaker trips due to faulty conditions. It includes a handle that moves to the centre position to indicate the tripped status. To reset the breaker and restore power, the handle must be moved back to the ON position.

What is the difference between a fixed and plug-on mounting?

A fixed mounting allows direct mounting on a panel which cannot be moved / removed and provides a permanent & secure location for the device. Plug-in mounting can be easily removed and replaced for maintenance or servicing.
