Working Mechanism

  • When AC flows through the primary coil, it generates a magnetic field around the core.
  • This magnetic field induces a voltage in the secondary coil proportional to the number of turns in the secondary coil relative to the primary coil.
  • By varying the number of turns in each coil, the transformer can step up or step down the voltage level of the AC power supply.
