Working Mechanism

  • These circuit breakers come equipped with an electronic trip unit that uses microprocessors to monitor the current flowing through conductors.
  • When an overcurrent condition is detected, the electronic trip sends a signal to the breaker's operating mechanism to open the main contacts and interrupt the current flow.
  • As the breaker trips, the indication LED on the front of the breaker illuminates, and the trip records the event in its memory.
  • Users can adjust the trip settings to accommodate different load types and provide instant protection against specific faults, such as ground faults.

Features

  • They feature an electronic LSI (long-time, short-time and instantaneous) trip unit to protect electrical systems when the current exceeds the set level for a certain period of time.
  • They come with an NG-frame design that offers interrupting capacities of 50kA at 480VAC and 25kA at 600VAC, respectively.
  • These breakers are integrated with line and load side terminals for easy installation with panelboards and load centres.

Standards and Approvals

  • IEC

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the function of the push-to-trip button?

A push-to-trip button is a manual override feature that allows the operator to manually trip the breaker and interrupt the current flow. This feature is typically used for testing or during emergency situations when the breaker needs to be tripped manually.

What is a Digitrip 310 trip unit?

A Digitrip 310 trip unit is a programmable, communicating, microprocessor-based, low-voltage trip unit that covers a range of rated currents. It also provides true RMS sensing and thermal imaging for measurement while monitoring the dissipated power of applied voltage to prevent damage.

How to install a moulded case circuit breaker in a panelboard?

  • Turn off the power to the electrical panel or switchboard.
  • Remove the appropriate breaker slot in the panel and install any necessary hardware like bus bars, if needed.
  • Connect the breaker's terminals to the bus bars in the panel.
  • Secure the breaker in the panel, making sure it is properly aligned and tightened to prevent loosening due to vibrations.
  • After installation, turn the power back on and test the breaker to ensure proper operation.
