Working Mechanism

  • The AC flowing in the main winding produces an alternating magnetic field within the magnetic core.
  • The magnetic core then mutually generates an alternating current in the subsequent winding.
  • With low impedance, this transformer operates in a short circuit.
  • Consequently, the secondary winding's current is dependent on the main winding's current but independent of the load impedance.
