FLUORAMICS Tufoil Lighting Grease

Fluoramics Tufoil lightning greases are jelled versions of Fluoramics Tufoil greases for operating in significantly lower operating temperatures and extending machinery & bearing life. These easily sheared greases are suitable for applications requiring resistance to low break-out torque, stick...-slip and wear. They are also ideal for slides & bolts on firearms as they do not run after softening when the gun heats up.Read more

Tufoil Lighting Grease

Fluoramics lightning greases are designed for applications requiring a low temperature, low break-out torque and wear, thereby ideal for use on machine parts, such as gears, fine or servo bearings and steppers. To provide a clog-free operation, these gear lubricants are best suited because of their Tufoil technology featuring extremely small suspension particles in its formulation (5 microns) that are used to extend the bearing life by lowering the operating temperature. Choose from a wide range of these Tufoil lightning greases, offered in plastic jar, plastic plunger and tube style containers, available in sizes ranging from 0.125 to 453.59 grams on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • Fluoramics Tufoil lightning greases can be applied using a hand, grease brush or hand pack from a jar like any other grease. However, a grease gun may be required for using grease cartridges.
  • In old machines, users should first put a grease drop on the surface and operate the mechanism. Then wipe off any excess using a clean tissue.
  • The process needs to be repeated till the tissue does not get discoloured by dirt or metal debris left from the old lubricant.
  • Old bearings & mechanisms can be brought back to life by just dabbing on all surfaces & old sticky gearboxes.

Features

  • Fluoramics Tufoil lightning greases are used in fine bearings, firearms, gears, steppers, servo bearings & robots.
  • They are rated at NLGI 1 with worked penetration of 351 at 77 degrees F & 60 strokes.
  • These lightning greases have a dropping point of 480 degrees F, above which they change from a semi-solid to a liquid state.
  • They have a smooth mixture without any lumps or foreign matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the NLGI number in these Fluoramics Tufoil lightning greases?

NLGI number ( called "NLGI grade") or worked penetration refers to the relative hardness or measure of the stiffness of greases used for lubrication.

What are the sizes available in these Fluoramics Tufoil lightning greases?

  • 15 g jar
  • 1/4 lb jar
  • 1/2 lb jar
  • 1 lb jar
  • 3 oz grease cartridge
  • 13.39 oz grease cartridge

What does shear stability mean in these Fluoramics Tufoil lightning greases?

Shear stability refers to the grease's resistance to viscosity loss due to exposure to mechanical loads. Long chain polymers of greases with low shear break down under thinner viscosity & heavy mechanical load resulting in accelerated internal engine wear & higher oil consumption. These Fluoramics Tufoil lightning greases have shear stability (extended work penetration) of 342 at 77 degrees F and 10000 / 100000 strokes.
