TM Series, Turbine Type Water Meters

GPI TM Series water meters measure the volume of water that passes through heavy flow water pipes for irrigation, waste water treatment and water supply applications. These water meters are also suitable for measuring water passing through OEM water treatment equipment and feature lightweight yet durable PVC construction for easily connecting to water supply lines. Selected GPI TM Series water meters feature integrated seven segment display for monitoring & displaying various parameters including flow rate and batch & cumulative totals. These water meters can display water flow in liters, gallons and cubic feet. These GPI TM Series water meters have a built in lithium battery that offers up to 5 years of hassle-free usage in industrial environments. These water meters further feature NPT / spigot style fittings for ensuring easy installation depending upon the application requirement. GPI TM Series water meters are available with display & without display options on Raptor Supplies.

Uses

GPI TM Series water meters measure the flow or volume of water that passes from heavy flow water pipes. They are ideal for applications like facility water usage, irrigation, chemical feed systems, blending, batching, cooling tower, clean water monitoring, waste water treatment and more. These water meters are also suitable for measuring the water flow in water based cooling systems.

Working Mechanism

GPI TM Series turbine flowmeters have a rotor inside the meter that rotates from the energy of the passing fluid. The angled blades of the rotor rotate in a fixed direction. This rotor is connected to a sensor that calculates the water flow rate & transfers the measured readings to the seven segment display on the meter.

Features

  • Rugged construction: GPI TM Series water meters feature lightweight yet durable PVC construction to ensure easy connection to the water supply lines while delivering high durability.
  • Multiple functions: GPI TM Series water meters display various parameters related to water supply usage. These water meters indicate the accurate flow rate and batch & cumulative totals.
  • Digital display: GPI TM Series water meters feature an integrated digital display that accurately displays the measured values in real time for precisely monitoring the water usage.

Compatible Accessories

  • Flowmeter seal kits: GPI flowmeter seal kits are designed for sealing the water meter & supply line connection for ensuring leak tight seal. These seal kits replace the worn out seals on GPI TM Series water meters.

Standards and Approvals

  • GPI TM Series water meters are manufactured in compliance with RoHS standards and conform to EMC standards (EN 61000-6-2 & EN 61000-6-3). Additionally, these water meters are CE and NSF Certified.

Installation

  • GPI TM Series water meters should be installed in line (either vertically or horizontally) with the water supply line.
  • These water meters should be installed in the right order as they are designed to measure water flow in just one direction. The user should check for the water flow direction arrow during installation.
  • Selected GPI TM Series water meters models come without a computer module that tests & displays the measured values. In such a case, the user can mount the computer module on the water meter using screws.
  • These water meters come in NPT & spigot style ends for making connections to the water supply line.
  • For spigot end water meters, the user should choose solvents & primer for glueing the PVC water meter to the supply line.
  • When installing NPT fittings style meters, the user should wrap the NPT male threads with thread tape and screw on the thread with the supply line afterwards.
  • User should check for any leakages before initiating the flow rate detection and measurement. In case of leakages, the leaking end of the water meter should be fixed with a sealant.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are GPI TM Series water meters?

GPI TM Series water meters feature an onboard processor / computer that processes the electrical impulses for calculating the water flow rate. This technology makes these water meters highly accurate for various industrial applications that require tight tolerances and minimum measurement error.

Does the brand offer other types of pumps?

Yes, the brand also offers various fuel transfer pumps that are suitable for transferring volatile fluids in oil & gas, automotive and manufacturing applications.

How to reset the Cumulative Total on GPI TM Series meters?

The user should first remove the LCD computer module by unscrewing the four screws which hold the module in place. Also, remove the battery located at the back of the computer. The user should press & hold the display button and re-insert the battery. This action resets the Cumulative Total to 0.00 reading. Finally, the user should screw the LCD computer module back in place.

How to set the computer display on flow meters from GPM to LPM unit?

The user should press and hold down the calibrate button. While holding the calibrate meter down, the user should press the display button. It changes the unit of measure that reflects on the upper left corner of the screen. GPI TM Series flow meters have an additional unit of measure as well (Cubic Feet).

Are aluminium meters ideal for metering water?

No, it is not suitable to use aluminium meters for metering water as they are prone to corrosion. Instead, GPI TM Series flow meters should be used for water metering applications as they have PVC construction.

How long do the lithium batteries last in these flow meters?

The lithium batteries used for powering the processor / computer last approximately 9000 hours.

Are GPI turbine meters ideal for metering oil?

Yes, these flow meters can meter oil if the viscosity value is under 100CP. The oil used must be compatible with the internal components of the flow meter, and its viscosity should not fluctuate. However, it is not recommended to meter oil if the oil temperature changes causing viscosity fluctuations. These flow meters should be field calibrated for every change in viscosity for delivering accurate results. Inaccurate readings can occur in case these requirements are not met.
