Sanding Belts

Norton Abrasives Vortex Rapid Prep Series sanding belts are used for high-speed sanding of flat surfaces; ideal for shaping & finishing wood, removing paints, metal & alloy finishing and sanding fibreglass. They are wrapped around an electrically rotating drum or motor for continuous sanding action with a roll of abrasive (aluminium oxide). These belts have nylon backing for providing support to the abrasive layer by withstanding high grinding pressure, and are highly flexible for conforming to contours. The clean bond technology provides smear free finish. Choose from a wide range of fine grade sanding belts, available in 80, 150, 220 and 360 grit sizes on Raptor Supplies.

Norton Abrasives sanding belts are used on stainless steel, wood, cobalt, chrome, titanium, inconel, mild & carbon steel, aluminium and other exotic alloys for sanding & surface conditioning applications. They feature aluminium oxide or ceramic construction for exceptional cut rates & durability and have strong butt joints (selected models) allowing them to be run in either direction. These belts provide X or Y-weight backings ensuring increased life and offer durable, cotton for heat sensitive applications, polyester for waterproof operations or nylon backing material to enhance stretchability. Some models have grinding aid coatings to ensure proper cuts, burn-free grinding & minimal loadings and are available in orange, brown & black colours.

Norton Abrasives sanding belts are designed for general purpose deburring, surface preparing & final finishing applications, and eliminating undercutting & gouging of surfaces. They feature aluminium oxide construction for consistent cutting & finishing. These non woven belts have strong nylon scrim backing for durability & stiffness, and X-weight backing to ensure tough operation.
