Taper-Lock bushings are ideal to secure a clamp fit on the shaft equivalent to a shrink fit that allows secure power transmission between the shaft and the mounted component. These bushings are used in industries, such as material handling, power transmission and more.
This product can only be shipped in multiples of 5
Features
They feature conventional mounting for a stable attachment, allowing efficient power transmission without any loss or slippage.
These Taper-Lock bushings have a keyway bore that provides a secure connection between the bushing and the shaft, preventing any rotational slippage or movement for optimal power transfer and minimising the risk of misalignment or disconnection during operation.
They are designed with inch series hardware, ensuring compatibility with commonly used measurement standards and enabling easy integration into existing systems, saving time and effort during installation or replacement processes.
Frequently Asked Questions
How to install TB Woods Taper-Lock bushings?
Prepare the shaft, bore and exterior of the bushing, as well as the hub's bore (if the bushings are already in place).
Eliminate any traces of oil, grease or dirt.
Position the hub onto the shaft, slide the bushing onto the shaft and into the hub.
Apply oil to the threads and areas of the setscrews or underneath the heads of the capscrews.
Avoid lubricating the hub bore or the outer surface of the bushing. Gently position the screws in the threaded holes on the hub side, as indicated in the diagram.
Position the assembly as desired and loosely tighten the screws to secure the bushing within the hub.
Gradually and evenly tighten the screws to the recommended torque, taking care not to overtighten. Utilise a hammer and drift to tap against the larger end of the bushing.
Begin by striking next to the screw farthest from the split in the bushing, then move to the opposite side of the screw.
Avoid striking near the outer diameter of the bushing to prevent any potential damage.
Can TB Woods Taper-Lock bushings be reused?
Yes, TB Woods Taper-Lock bushings can be reused due to their split flange design, facilitating effortless removal and reinstallation without causing any harm to the bushing or shaft. However, it is crucial to inspect the bushings for any signs of wear or damage before reuse, as this ensures the preservation of peak performance and safety standards.
Are TB Woods Taper-Lock bushings compatible with different shaft sizes?
TB Woods Taper-Lock bushings offer a wide range of sizes and bore diameters, enabling them to accommodate various shaft sizes. This versatility makes them highly suitable for a diverse array of industrial applications that require precise fit and compatibility as critical factors for success.
