Nonsparking Sledge Hammer

Westward non-sparking hammers are designed to drive wedges and posts, as well as perform heavy demolition jobs in construction sites, mines and fire rescue services. These hammers feature a rubber over-moulded spring steel handle to absorb the force of an impact and withstand overstrikes without cracking or breaking. The non-sparking attributes make these units an ideal choice for working in highly flammable sites; like oil refineries or gas plants. These sledgehammers further come equipped with a beryllium-copper alloy / copper head providing a maximum striking area while balancing the movement. Choose from a wide range of these non-sparking sledgehammers, available in orange-grey and orange-black handle colours on Raptor Supplies.

Working Mechanism

  • When the handle is swung and strikes the object, the force of the impact is transferred from the handle to the head, making it useful for breaking concrete or forming metal.
  • The long handle provides added leverage & control, while the non-ferrous metallic head prevents sparks during striking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the use of vulcanised rubber?

The vulcanised rubber offers excellent shock-absorbing attributes while withstanding high impact forces & abrasion caused by striking the hammer head against different surfaces. The flexible material improves durability and provides excellent wear & tear resistance when combined with steel.

Why is a fibreglass handle considered better than a wooden handle?

A fibreglass handle offers more rigidity and has a higher shelf life than standard wooden handles. Also, it is unaffected by fungus, termites or dry rot.

What is the advantage of a ribbed grip?

The handle has a ribbed grip that features raised ridges or bumps along its surface. These ridges provide a secure and comfortable grip, allowing a better hold on the hammer while reducing fatigue during hammering.
