Altronix NetWay8MV midspan power injector is designed to connect a network camera, IP phones and a wireless access point to a network switch. This midspan power injector helps the existing network to support PoE compliant cameras / edge devices and offer auto detection & protection of legacy non-PoE cameras or edge devices. It features a LAN or laptop connection that enables the programming of PoE shutdown and port monitoring. Altronix NetWay8MV midspan power injector is capable of supporting non-PoE compliant fixed & PTZ IP cameras utilising NetWay1512 or NetWay3012 adapters. Altronix NetWay8MV midspan power injector features an illuminated master power disconnect circuit breaker with a manual reset switch. This midspan power injector incorporates numerous safety features, such as short circuit & overload protection, PoE manual shutdown, auto-detection & protection of legacy non-PoE cameras / devices and LED indicators for port, PoE & IP link status. This device passes data over an ethernet / data cables that are already in place, instead of installing additional power sockets for each device, thereby reducing extra wiring. It can be installed on a wall or shelf for use in indoor spaces.

Compatible Accessories:

• Altronix NetWay3012: These adapters convert PoE+ (30W) to 12VDC at current up to 2.5A. They are compatible with PoE switches and midspans.
• Altronix NetWay1512: These Altronix adapters provide PoE compatibility for conventional IP surveillance cameras with NetWay8MV midspan injector. They are compatible with PoE midspans and switches that pass power via spare pairs of the network cable (Mode B).
• Altronix NetWayXT & NetWayXTX: These repeater modules are designed to interface with NetWay8MV midspan to extend data (video) to 100 m. They are PoE / PoE+, IEEE 802.3af (15W) and IEEE 802.3at (30W) compliant. A maximum range of 600 m is possible using multiple repeaters, based on camera / device port requirement.

Installation:

• Altronix NetWay8MV is intended for indoor use only and must be installed within protected premises
• Mounting brackets can be attached to the NetWay8MV unit for rack or wall mount installation and rubber pads can be for shelf installation.
• The unit is to be installed in a space where the maximum ambient temperature does not exceed 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius).
• Set illuminated master power disconnect circuit breaker to the OFF position.
• It comes with a grounded AC line cord that can be plugged into the IEC 320 connector of the unit. Plug the unit into an earth grounded socket. (Note: The user should ensure that while using multiple units, the sum of the individual name plate ratings should not exceed the supply circuit rating. Do not connect to a receptacle controlled by a switch.)
• Two structured cables are used to link the [IN] port to a UL-listed ethernet switch or a video server and the [OUT] port to a powered device.
• Upon completion of wiring, you can set the illuminated master power disconnect circuit breaker to the RESET (ON) position.
• Port status LEDs on Altronix NetWay8MV will initialise when PoE devices are connected. LED will illuminate when devices are IEEE 802.3af compliant. LED will blink once and illuminate when devices are IEEE802.3at compliant (PoE Plus).
