This plunger clamp is ideal for the metalworking, woodworking, aerospace and automotive industries and is designed for applications where workpiece thicknesses and tolerances vary. The clamp is suitable for clamping between ribs and hollow spaces and is integrated with a flanged mounting base for secure & easy installation. It utilises a plunger and a hand lever / hand wheel that can be operated either separately or simultaneously. When clamping the unit against a workpiece, the clamping stroke can be reduced by the force locking connection between the plunger and the workpiece. The straight line action clamp can then be unlocked by turning the hand lever or wheel counter-clockwise. To change the position of the handle while in the clamped or unclamped position, the user has to pull the hand lever off its spline and set it in the desired position. The clamping force is proportional to the operation force, hence the achieved clamping force must not exceed the maximum holding force.
