Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is the maximum operating temperature of Eaton FD3150 moulded case circuit breaker?

A. This circuit breaker can be operated at temperatures up to 158 degrees F.

Q. What causes moulded case circuit breakers to trip?

A. Overloading a circuit is the primary reason for frequent short-circuit tripping.

Q. What is the difference between MCCBs and MCBs?

A.

  • MCBs protect items from current overloads while MCCBs protect equipment from fault currents & excess temperature rise.
  • The tripping circuit of MCBs is fixed while MCCBs have a movable tripping circuit.
  • MCBs have comparatively low interrupting ratings than MCCBs.

Q. How to install this circuit breaker?

A.

  • Ensure sure that Eaton FD3150 is the appropriate circuit breaker for the application.
  • Use a bolt drilling plan to make sure that the mounting panel is predrilled. Only load-end support mounting holes are needed for panelboard mounting. Make sure that the panel cover is cut out to correct the escutcheon dimension in dead front cover applications.
  • Mount the unit on the panel or mounting surface while making sure that the accessory wirings can be reached. Install & tighten the mounting screws, washers & nuts.
  • Install an optional terminal end cover if required. Connect the line & load terminals andaccessory leads. Install terminal shield & interphase barrier if needed.
  • Finally, check all the mounting & terminal connecting hardware.
