  • Flange stop prevents over-drilling.
  • Replaceable, cobalt-steel pilot drill with a split-point tip to prevent walking.
  • Comes in a carrying case.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. Is a carbide cutter better than an HSS cutter?

A. Carbide cutters are excellent for working with hard or abrasive materials. They have a cutting speed that is 4 to 7 times more than that of high-speed steel cutters.

Q. What safety instructions must one be aware of while operating this tool?

A.

  • Wear a dust mask to avoid inhaling dust and chips.
  • Maintain proper balance and footing at all times. Never use a cutter while standing on a ladder or tabletop, where proper footing and balance might be hard to maintain.
  • If the hole cutter penetrates material at an angle other than 90 degrees, it may unexpectedly grab, kick or buck. While operating the hole cutter, keep it perpendicular to the work surface.
  • Set the drill to rotary only if using this cutter in an impact drill.
  • Reduce pilot bit pressure just before the cutter breaks through the workpiece to avoid slamming the carbide cutter into the material. After the carbide cutter has made contact with the material, apply light to moderate pressure.
  • After finishing each hole, carefully remove the chips or slugs.
