Product Details:

Milwaukee Valve MC34 pneumatic actuator is a device that converts gas energy or compressed air into mechanical motion to govern one or more final control components. However, by inserting or removing Milwaukee Controls spring cartridges, it is simple to change the configuration of the double-acting and spring return actuators on the job site.

Features:

  • Milwaukee MC34 pneumatic actuator has integral position stops for field adjustment.
  • This double acting unit can withstand pressures up to 80 psi.
  • It is factory lubricated for 2,000,000 cycles under normal operating conditions.
  • This model has ports that are plugged in to prevent liquids or other materials from entering the actuator.

Compatible Accessories:

  • Milwaukee MC34S5 Spring Return: The MC34 pneumatic actuator, when added with spring cartridge, results in the pneumatic linear actuator spring return unit, thus performing multiple applications.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What should be done when actuators need to be stored for a long time?

A.

  • The actuators should be routinely stroked to prevent the seals from setting if they will be kept for a long time before installation.
  • To use the actuator, the plugs must be taken out.
  • Indoor storage is preferred and humidity & other damaging factors should be kept out of the storage facilities.

Q. Can Milwaukee actuators work with fluid?

A. Although Milwaukee actuators are made to work with pressured air, they also work well with water, hydraulic fluid and inert fluids.

Q. How is it installed?

A. The actuator has an ISO bottom mounting pattern and a star-broached pinion for simple coupling fabrication, thus ensuring easy installation.

Q. How do we install Milwaukee MC34 pneumatic actuators?

A.

  • Check the fit of the connection by inserting it into the valve stem and the actuator. Check to see if the pinion is in the required position and if the actuator is double acting.
  • Before continuing, make sure the valve is in the usual position. Ensure that the actuators' pinions will be turned by 90 degrees.
  • Attach the mounting bracket to the valve, then manually tighten each fastener. (Make sure the complete component is mounted and aligned before applying full tension to the bolts.)
  • Put the coupling on the valve stem, then place the actuator over the coupling and onto the mounting bracket. Eliminate shear stresses by aligning the valve and actuator assembly. All assembly fasteners should be torqued to the proper degree.
  • Actuate pneumatically several times to ensure that the coupling is not binding. If the unit does not function properly, disassemble and repeat steps 1 to 5.
  • Rotate valve assembly to the desired position.
  • Unscrew the two sealing nuts. Till the stops make contact with the pistons, torque travel ceases. While setting the trip stops, be careful not to change the valve position. The sealing nuts should be tightly torqued. Retest the actuator to assure that there are no end cap air leaks.
