About RULAND MANUFACTURING

Ruland Manufacturing's product line includes rigid couplings, shaft collars, jaw coupling hubs, jaw coupling spiders, motion control couplings and drill accessories. Ruland set-screw rigid shaft couplings are designed to align or join shafts at low speed and torque. These couplings are made of robust stainless steel or black oxide steel and are suitable for applications requiring alignment. The brand's one-piece shaft collars are installed over the shafts to evenly distribute clamping forces while ensuring a tight fit with great holding power, without the shaft damage caused by set screws. These shaft collars use a forged screw for easy removal, high adjustablity and application on virtually any shaft.

RULAND MANUFACTURING Competitive Advantages

Nypatch Coating

Nypatch proprietary anti-vibration coating is applied to clamp-type rigid couplings and F-Series beam couplings. This coating provides even seating of the screw, prevents galling and allows repeated screw installations to increase holding power and coupling performance. They also provide a frictional drag on the threads of the socket head cap screws to avoid unintentional loosening. Nypatch-coated screws can be loosened and re-torqued multiple times without degrading their holding power and offering additional convenience even after their initial installation.

Nomar Shaft Collars

Nomar Shaft Collars wrap around the shaft to distribute clamping pressures evenly. These collars are beneficial in making a tight fit and greater holding power.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the meaning of precision-honed bore?

Honing process is intended to perfect bore geometry and size by removing a minimal metal layer while generating a smooth pattern finish for optimum lubricant retention.

What is the purpose of mounting bases?

Mounting bases are designed to mount the system onto a machine or fixture. They feature standardised counterbores that allow them to be mounted directly onto extruded aluminium framing, sheet metal and other workspaces.

What is the advantage of rubber bumpers?

Rubber bumpers are sandwiched between pieces of equipment for dampening vibrations and reducing noise. These bumpers are available in natural rubber, nitrile or silicon variants.

What is the material of construction of Ruland jaw coupling hubs?

  • Aluminium

Can Ruland coupling hubs withstand high temperatures?

Coupling hubs featuring acetal disks can handle up to 150 degrees Fahrenheit. Coupling hubs featuring nylon disks can handle up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

What is the difference between rigid and flexible couplings?

Rigid couplings offer a rigid connection. The two shafts of rigid couplings are firmly attached, and the coupling allows for smooth torque transmission throughout the system. Flexible couplings produce flexible connections and the components may lose some torque power as a result of the contact.
