Working Mechanism

  • Turn the power switch 'ON' and wait until the 'Sterilise' light is illuminated.
  • Fill the chamber of these sterilisers with glass beads (included with the device), heating these glass beads at high temperatures (up to 300 degrees C) can kill bacteria, spores and other microorganisms.
  • It will take approximately 25 minutes for the light to illuminate, indicating that the beads have reached a temperature of 300 degrees C.
  • The tools are ready to be sterilised.

Features

  • They come with an LED screen and knob control that allows easy viewing and precise adjustment of temperatures, respectively.
  • Their outer casing stays cool to the touch, even when these sterilisers are used all day.
  • These glass bead sterilisers also include a safety cover that can be placed over the opening to conserve energy and minimise the heating / ramping rate.
  • The tall model (B1202-E) is available for the sterilisation of larger tools.

Compatible Accessories

  • Refill Glass Beads: The pack includes 1000 gm replacement glass beads that are compatible with Benchmark micro bead sterilisers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should the instruments or tools be kept in the chamber?

  • One small instrument (scissors, scalpel, or forceps) should be allowed to stand for at least 15 seconds before it is removed.
  • Larger instruments (operating scissors, or bone instruments) should stand for at least one minute.

What happens if the instrument is left unattended in the glass beads longer than the recommended time?

Instruments can remain in the glass beads longer than the recommended time. However, they may become very hot and could degrade the metal properties of some instruments. It might also lead to severe burns and tissue damage if the instrument is not allowed to cool before use.

Can hollow instruments be used in the steriliser?

No, users should avoid hollow metal instruments as they are not suitable for use in high temperatures, which may cause them to explode and spray hot beads.
