O-rings are doughnut-shaped gaskets used in static or dynamic applications for sealing machinery. They are manufactured by techniques like extrusion, compression, injection and transfer moulding. The back-up rings or anti-extrusion rings are thin rings designed to prevent O-ring extrusion, under pressure, by providing added resistance.
